The Mulva Studio, St. Norbert College's newest student-centered learning space designed with the needs of 21st-century learners in mind, will host an open house on Monday, Sept. 16, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The Mulva Studio is located in the lower level of the Miram B. and James J. Mulva Library at St. Norbert College.

According to Kristin Vogel, director of the library at St. Norbert, the Mulva Studio "is a groundbreaking sort of learning environment that offers a model to libraries throughout the region and country."

Approximately 150 students can find significant study space at the Mulva Studio's booths, tables and couch clusters. They have the ability to move seamlessly from technology-driven work to low-tech techniques that facilitate learning and from group work to solitary study. Writeable surfaces (surfaces designed for dry-erase markers) are generously placed throughout the space.

The ongoing "Conversations at St. Norbert" television show will be recorded in the studio suite, which is designed with a glass wall for transparency so students can observe taping. Students are also able to use the studio suite and audio room for their own video projects.
