The St. Norbert College community honored Michael Peckham, director of its housing operations, and student Hayden Hoffman at the President's Dinner on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Peckham received the Exceptional Service Award after being nominated by faculty and staff, while Hoffman earned the college's Employee Endowed Scholarship.

Peckham began his career at St. Norbert College in 1988. As the current director of housing operations, Mike's responsibilities frequently put him in direct contact with students as they face the challenges of settling in to their new "home." Peckham is known for his gentle and graceful manner in helping students, and sometimes their parents, through these difficult moments.
Mike also dedicates a significant amount of time to ensuring that summer camps and conferences that use the St. Norbert College residence halls have an excellent experience. Outside of his department, Mike has also worked on the college's diversity efforts, the annual Martin Luther King Day initiatives and the Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and he co-chaired the committee that developed the college's current strategic plan.

Hoffman, from Kaukauna, Wis., earned a $1,000 scholarship for his GPA and service to the community. A communications major and business minor, Hoffman is a dean's list student. He has volunteered at Ft. Howard Elementary School, the Boys and Girls Club and the Wisconsin International School in De Pere. Hoffman also competes in cross-country at St. Norbert College and works at various jobs during the summer.
