The Killeen Chair of Theology and Philosophy Lecture Series will feature "Happiness in the Christian Life," presented by Ellen Charry, Margaret W. Harmon Professor of Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary. The lecture will take place on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. in the Fort Howard Theater, located in the Bemis International Center on the St. Norbert College campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Ellen Charry earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in religion from Temple University following a M.S.W. from Yeshiva University and a B.A. from Barnard College. Her interest is in human flourishing in a Christian perspective. She was an editor of Theology Today (1997--2004), a member of the theology committee of the House of Bishops of the Episcopal Church (1998--2010) and a member of the Pursuit of Happiness Project at the Center for Law and Religion at Emory University, sponsored by the Templeton Foundation (2007--2010). Charry has served on the editorial boards of the Scottish Journal of Theology and Pro Ecclesia. She currently serves as an editor-at-large for The Christian Century.
The Killeen Chair of Theology and Philosophy was established in 1984 to bring figures in the fields of theology and philosophy to the St. Norbert College campus. The Killeen Chair draws attention to the importance of theology and philosophy in a Catholic liberal arts education and highlights the commitment of St. Norbert College to provide an education that is personally, intellectually and spiritually challenging. The Killeen Chair is an appropriate way of honoring Abbot Killeen's many contributions to St. Norbert College, the Norbertine order and the wider community.
