St. Norbert College has selected Shelly Mumma, Reid Riggle and Kelly Shaw as recipients of this year's Founder's Day Awards. The awards are given to employees of St. Norbert College who show dedication to the Norbertine traditions of collegiality, respect, community prayer and self-emptying service. The awards were presented at the St. Norbert College Founder's Day prayer and breakfast service on October 9. Shelly Mumma is director of leadership, student engagement & first year experience and teaches in the leadership studies minor. She has served the college since 2006 and has been said to be "a wise counselor, and a good friend to all who come her way.…"
Reid Riggle is associate professor of education at St. Norbert. Riggle began working at the college in 1989. A colleague wrote: "I have worked closely with Reid over the past three years as we have developed and implemented the Village Project, a service-learning project for students. Through this class, his students learn about and live out the St. Norbert College mission of service while learning course content, developing multi-cultural awareness and meeting a real community need.…"
Kelly Shaw, a recycling technician in the facilities department, came to St. Norbert in 2000. Shaw has served on the hourly employees association board and, it is noted by others, consistently teaches by example the importance of prayer and reflection.
