The Cassandra Voss Center at St. Norbert College announces the "year of bell hooks," featuring programming dedicated to the canonical scholar of social justice and feminism bell hooks, culminating with her visit to St. Norbert on April 15-17.

Hooks has been honored as a leading public intellectual by The Atlantic Monthly, as well as one of Utne Reader's "100 Visionaries Who Could Change Your Life." She has authored over 35 books and was recently in conversation with Melissa Harris-Perry at The New School in New York for a talk titled, "Black Female Voices: Who Is Listening"?
The Cassandra Voss Center will feature monthly programming on hooks' wide-ranging work about race, gender, pedagogy, love and popular culture. The programming will include "Teaching to Transgress" in February and "All About Love" in March.
