Murphy and Kunkel to Appear on “Conversations from St. Norbert College” Television Show

Packers president Mark Murphy and St. Norbert College president Thomas Kunkel will be the guests on the March "Conversations from St. Norbert College" television show hosted by associate dean for academic affairs and international education Kevin Quinn. They will discuss the Sport and Society Conference to be hosted by St. Norbert and the Packers this May, as well as issues involving the National Football League (NFL). Mark Murphy, possessor of extensive experience in professional football and sports administration, is in his sixth year as the Packers' President and CEO. He served a combined 16 years as director of athletics at Northwestern University and Colgate University prior to joining Packers.
Murphy serves on the NFL's management council executive committee, competition committee and health and safety committee.
Murphy enjoyed an eight-year NFL playing career with the Washington Redskins, including the Super Bowl championship team of 1982. He is believed to be the first person to earn a Super Bowl ring as a player and as a team chief executive. Tom Kunkel was named St. Norbert College's seventh president in 2008. An eminent journalist, Kunkel served for eight years as dean of the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland before coming to St. Norbert. During his tenure he has seen the dedication of the Mulva Library and the construction of a number of significant new building projects on the St. Norbert campus, including the Gehl-Mulva Science Center which will open in 2015. Kunkel has presided over the introduction of a Master of Liberal Studies graduate program, the adoption of a new General Education program and the inception of the Sport and Society conference. He is also a member of the Green Bay Packers board of trustees. New "Conversations" shows appear the first Friday of each month. The series airs on TWCT Time Warner Cable Television Channel 4 in Green Bay, Howard/Suamico and Seymour; Channel 4 in the Fox Cities; Channel 2 in Neenah/Menasha; and on NET cable Channel 46 in Pulaski. The show also airs on St. Norbert College Channel 5 in De Pere, Ashwaubenon and Bellevue on Sundays at 9:30 a.m., Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.
The show can also be seen on Wisconsin on Demand (WIoD), Time Warner Cable's local video-on-demand channel (411). It is available free to Time Warner Cable's digital customers in 70 communities in northeast Wisconsin.
