St. Norbert College's petition for a chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society has been approved by the society's board of directors. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines.

The organization was founded in 1897 and inducts approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni annually from more than 300 select colleges and universities. In addition to a variety of membership benefits, the society distributes $1 million each biennium through fellowships, awards and grants to qualifying members. Membership is by invitation only to the top 10% of seniors and graduate students and the top 7.5% of juniors from participating institutions.
