Language Services at St. Norbert College to Offer April Workshops and Cooking Classes

St. Norbert College Language Services will hold the following events this April for the general public:
French Food and Film Cultural Workshop: Saturday, April 5, 5-8 p.m. at St. Norbert College. Stephanie Lemerond, native of France and founder of the informational website France Savant, will lead a discussion about French culinary and cinematic traditions while participants dine on French food and enjoy a French film. The cost for the workshop is $45 per person and $35 for St. Norbert College students, faculty, staff and alumni. Register by March 28.
Learn to Draw Manga: Wednesday, April 23, 6-8 p.m. at St. Norbert College. St. Norbert alumna Jocelyn Gerndt will show participating children how to draw their own Manga. Gerndt graduated with a BA in Fine Arts and a minor in Japanese Area Studies. She taught middle school for a year in Shiga Prefecture in Japan. The cost is $15 per child.
Easter Traditions Cooking Class: Tuesday, April 8, 5-8 p.m. at the Brown County Culinary Kitchen, 2900 Curry Lane, Green Bay. Participants will learn how to make stuffed carrots, dilled fresh pea soup, rhubarb chutney, Russian/Ukraine Easter bread and Italian Easter cake. The class will be instructed by cooking instructors Susan Beno and Jon Lutgen. The cost of the class is $40 per person, which includes instruction and all materials. Register by April 1.
"The Cakes" -- Italian Desserts: Tuesday, April 29, 5:30-8 p.m. at the Brown County Culinary Kitchen, 2900 Curry Lane, Green Bay. Italy native Paola Vianello will teach participants how to prepare a tiramisu, a semifreddo and a lemon sorbet. Participants will also learn about genuine Italian cuisine traditions and learn where to find fresh ingredients. The cost for the class is $40 per person, which includes instruction and all materials. Register by April 22.
