Language Services at St. Norbert College to Offer September Cooking Classes

St. Norbert College Language Services will hold the following events in September for the general public:
Tailgate Cooking: Saturday, Sept. 6, 9 a.m.-noon at The Salvation Army Kroc Center, 1315 Lime Kiln Road in Green Bay. Participants will learn how to grill vegetables, proteins and pizza. Chef Arlie Doxtator will show how to whip up both traditional and not-so-traditional tailgating foods. Chef Arlie will also share his techniques for both gas and charcoal grilling.
The cost is $45 per person, which includes instruction, food and materials. Register by Aug. 29. Basics of Sausage-Making: Wednesday, Sept.10, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Brown County Culinary Kitchen, 203 South Madison Street in Green Bay. Participants will learn how to make fresh homemade sausage. Door County native Gary Guth, who trained at the National School of Meat Cutting and worked in the meat industry for forty years, will share his secrets of this culinary art in this beginner's class. The cost is $40 per person, which includes instruction, food and materials. Register by Sept. 3. Gifts From the Garden: Tuesday, Sept.16, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Brown County Culinary Kitchen, 203 South Madison Street in Green Bay. Participants will learn to prepare and preserve vegetables from the garden. Judy Knudsen, family living educator for the UW extension office, will instruct the class.
