The St. Norbert College community honored Todd Danen, its director of alumni and parent relations, and student Rebecca Fredrickson at the President's Dinner on Wednesday, Aug. 20.

Danen, nominated by faculty and staff, received the college's annual Exceptional Service Award, and Fredrickson was given the college's $2,000 Employee Endowed Scholarship in recognition of her academic achievements and community service.

Danen acts as an ambassador for the college in his interaction with generations of former students. He is an active member of the Salaried Employee Association and represents the association on the advancement committee of the board of trustees.
In addition to his work at St. Norbert College, Danen served as president of the De Pere Rotary Club, is a founding member of the Pink Flamingos--a charitable group that hosts an annual softball tournament in De Pere--and is a former member of the board of directors of the De Pere Historical Society. He is also involved in Knights of Columbus, has taught religious formation at his parish, and has been involved in the De Pere Little League.

Fredrickson, the winner of the Employee Endowed Scholarship, is a native of Sturgeon Bay, Wis. A psychology major and music minor, Fredrickson serves as a tutor for Academic Support Services on campus. In addition, she has been a member of Psi Chi, a campus ambassador for Opportunity International, a member of the board of directors of United Way of Door County and a volunteer at Paul's Pantry. She has also worked retail sales for The Farm in Sturgeon Bay.

Fredrickson has previously been honored with a Trustee Scholarship and been named a Dean's List student. In Spring 2012, she was given a "good citizen" award by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her future plans involve graduate school and possibly a career in music therapy.
