St. Norbert College Language Services to Hold October Workshops

St. Norbert College language services will present a variety of workshops this October, focusing on various aspects of cultures and traditions from around the world. The workshops, which are open to the general public, are listed below.
Kolache Making Class: Tuesday, Oct. 7, 4-7 p.m. at the Brown County Culinary Kitchen at 2900 Curry Lane in Green Bay. Glenda Blazek from Suamico's Old World Pastries will instruct workshop participants in the making of the traditional Danish pastry. Class sizes limited to ensure maximum hands-on participation.
The cost of the workshop is $40 per person, which covers the cost of all materials and instruction. The registration deadline is Sept. 30.

Spices Around the World: Monday, Oct. 13, 5-8 p.m. at the YWCA at 230 South Madison Street in Green Bay. Participants will learn to create meals using an international variety of herbs, spices, and aromatics, and will broaden their knowledge of the origins, history and uses of spices from around the world.

The cost of this workshop is $40 per person, which includes instruction, food and all necessary materials. The registration deadline is Oct. 6.
Dutch Culture & Heritage Workshop: Monday, Oct. 20, 6-7:30 p.m., at the Van Asten Visitor Center at 127 West Main Street in Little Chute. This workshop aims to deepen participants' understanding of Dutch culture and heritage, an ancestry shared by 15% of Wisconsinites.
The cost of the workshop is $30 per person. The registration deadline is Oct. 13.

Wild Game & Fish: Saturday, Nov. 1, 9 a.m. to noon at the Salvation Army Kroc Center at 1315 Lime Kiln Road in Green Bay. With the hunting season forthcoming, chef Arlie Doxtator will teach workshop participants techniques for preparing venison, rabbit, duck, perch, walleye and salmon.
The cost of this workshop is $40 per person, which covers instruction, food and all necessary materials. The registration deadline is Oct. 27.
