Niu to Present Faculty Lecture Recital

Yi-Lan Niu, assistant professor of music at St. Norbert College, will present a lecture recital entitled "Zither Song Project" on Saturday, Oct. 18. The recital will take place in the Presentation Room of the Mulva Library at St. Norbert College at 2 p.m., and is free and open to the public.

Niu joined the St. Norbert College faculty in 2007, having previously served on the faculties at Ripon College and the Madison Academy of Music. Throughout her academic career, she has received numerous awards and scholarships, including the UW-Madison Opera Props Award. Niu has also traveled and performed internationally, and is a regularly featured soloist in the United States and Asia. She has premiered several works written for her, including the epic "Requiem" for solo voice and orchestra by Alexander Nohai-Seaman. In addition, Niu has performed a variety of operatic roles.
