James Forbes to Deliver Fall Miller Lecture

The Rev. James Forbes will deliver a lecture on "The Recruitment of Human Race Activists" as part of the Miller Lecture Series at St. Norbert College. The lecture will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Walter Theatre at the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the college campus, and is free and open to the public.
Forbes is the Harry Emerson Fosdick Distinguished Professor at Union Theological Seminary, Senior Minister Emeritus of the Riverside Church in New York City, and President of the Healing of the Nations Foundation.

A pastor, an educator, and a community and interfaith activist, Forbes has earned three degrees and been awarded fourteen honorary degrees. He has been named one of the twelve most effective preachers in the English-speaking world by Newsweek magazine and the Baylor University Survey, and recognized as one of America's greatest black preachers by Ebony magazine.

First established in 1993, the Norman and Louis Miller Lecture in Public Understanding at St. Norbert College promotes unity, communication and tolerance among different cultures, religions, ethnicities and traditions. It aims to encourage greater interpersonal understanding both domestically and internationally.
