St. Norbert College will present a showing of the documentary "Citizen Koch" on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. in the Fort Howard Theater of the Bemis International Center on the St. Norbert College campus. There will be a discussion following the film, including a short Skype conversation with the filmmakers. The event is sponsored by the College Democrats and College Republicans, as well as the political science honor society (Phi Sigma Alpha). It is free and open to the public.

"Citizen Koch" is set against the rise of the Tea Party in the aftermath of the U.S. Supreme Court's 2010 Citizens United ruling. The film concerns three Republican working-class voters -- a teacher, a prison guard, and a nurse -- who run afoul of their own party and are forced to choose sides when the citizen uprising to recall Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker collides with the Tea Party-aligned "Americans for Prosperity," a group founded and financed by two of the world's richest men: David and Charles Koch.
