St. Norbert College has selected Kenneth Gehm, Charles Jacobs, Alex Kaminski, Bryahna Rambo and Jeff Ritter as recipients of its 2014 Founder's Day Awards. The awards are given in recognition of dedication to the Norbertine traditions of collegiality, respect and community prayer and service. They were presented at the St. Norbert College Founder's Day prayer breakfast on Oct. 8.

Kenneth Gehm is a campus safety officer who came to St. Norbert College in 2008. In addition to his official duties, he also participates in a wide variety of events at the college and in the greater community. Gehm and his wife sponsor the annual Jared Gehm Memorial Run in their son's memory; proceeds from the run provide academic scholarships to students at Green Bay Preble High.

Charles Jacobs, associate professor of political science, joined the college faculty in 2007. He is also an academic coach for the St. Norbert College mock trial team, and advises pre-law students. "He has always only imparted the truth … I trust what he says," said the student who nominated Jacobs for the award.

Alex Kaminski (Greenville, Wis.) is a St. Norbert College senior and a political science major, with minors in peace & justice and graphic design. He has served with the ALIVE program throughout his college career, and has been an intern at the Norman Miller Center for Peace, Justice & Public Understanding for the past two years.

Bryahna Rambo (Greenville, Wis.) is also a St. Norbert College senior. She is a biology major with a biomedical science concentration and a chemistry minor. Over the course of her college career, Rambo has served in a variety of leadership and volunteer roles, most recently as associate hall director for Michels Hall. "Bryahna has a strong commitment to helping others … she has developed an understanding of how to work with others in need," according to her nominator.

Jeff Ritter joined St. Norbert College in 1983. He taught in the business administration discipline before taking up his current position as director of academic advisement. "He is a dedicated, encouraging and empowering adviser who takes an active interest in every student he meets and assists those students in clarifying and achieving their goals," said one of his colleagues. In addition to his work for the college, Ritter has worked with charities raising money for those battling childhood cancer.
