Colleges Against Cancer, a student organization at St. Norbert College, will hold The Run for Lungs, a 5K run/walk for all ages, on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Voyageur Park in De Pere. Colleges Against Cancer is holding the event in November in recognition of Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Their aim is to promote healthy living, increase awareness of lung cancer and raise money for those trying to put an end to the disease. All proceeds from the run will go to the American Cancer Society.

There will be a free shuttle service running from Schuldes Sports Center at St. Norbert College to Voyageur Park, and back after the event concludes. The run/walk will start at Voyageur Park and will follow the Fox River Trail for 1.5 miles, then return to the starting point along the same route. There will be food, music, a raffle, and festivities after the conclusion of the run. Raffle tickets can be purchased on arrival (all participants will receive one free ticket).

Check-in begins at 9 a.m. on November 8; the run/walk begins at 10 a.m. Those who wish to sign up beforehand can do so at http://www.active.com/de-pere-wi/running/distance-running-races/run-for-lungs-5k-2014. Registration is $20 for individuals and $15 for members of groups or teams. All runners/walkers who are pre-registered must check in at the registration table prior to the beginning of the run. Runners can also register on the day of the event upon arrival at Voyageur Park (cash will be accepted).
