Two short plays written by St. Norbert College students have been accepted into the New Play Program at the Region 3 conference of the annual American College Theatre Festival. Six ten-minute scenes were chosen to be presented at the festival, including "Life Experience" by St. Norbert College junior Erich Wegenke (Sun Prairie, Wis.), and five one-act plays, among them "Ghost Hunting With Steve and Marta" by St. Norbert College student Clara Wendland (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.). All of the selected works will be given a director and a cast, and will be performed in a staged reading at the festival, which will take place at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Jan. 7 to 11, 2015.

Wendland's one-act play, "Ghost Hunting With Steve and Marta," takes a light-hearted look at a pair of bickering ghost hunters in search of the paranormal. It has previously been performed onstage at St. Norbert College as part of the theatre department's Fall 2014 production, a collection of four short plays called "Ghost Stories."

"Life Experience," the ten-minute scene by Wegenke, tells the story of a recent college graduate trying to get a job at a marketing firm, who invents increasingly exaggerated stories about his qualifications to impress the person interviewing him.
