Language Services at St. Norbert College to Offer February Workshops

St. Norbert College Language Services will hold the following events this February for the general public:

Coffees Around the World: Tuesday, Feb. 3, 6-8:30 p.m., Luna Café, 330 Main Avenue, in DePere. In this workshop, Luna Café owner Mark Patel will guide students through a history of coffee production around the world. Samples will be provided. The cost of the class is $20 per person.

Learn to Draw Manga for Middle Schoolers: Thursday, Feb. 5, 6-8 p.m., on the St. Norbert College campus. Children will try their hand at drawing comics in the Japanese Manga style, to delight themselves and their friends. The cost for the class is $15 per child.

French Food & Film: Saturday, Feb. 7, 5:30-8:30 p.m., on the St. Norbert College campus. Instructor Stephanie Lemerond will lead a lively discussion about French culinary and cinematic traditions while students dine on a French meal and enjoy a French film. The cost is $45 per person.

Handmade Pastas Cooking Class: Tuesday, Feb. 17, 5-7:30 p.m., on the St. Norbert College campus. This workshop will demonstrate how to make fresh pasta by hand. St. Norbert College Chef Ben Sauer will show how knead, roll and cut pasta into fettuccini, make and fill perfectly delicious raviolis, and create a delicious homemade tomato sauce. The cost for the workshop is $40 per person.

Belgian Pie Class: Saturday, Feb. 21, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at Southern Door High School in Brussels, Wis. Participants will discover a piece of local Belgian culture, the Belgian Pie. Door County native and Belgian pie expert Gina Wautier will reveal the history behind the pastry. The cost of the class is $40 per person.

"Flying Start" Travel Workshop -- France: Saturday, Feb. 21, 10 a.m.-noon on the St. Norbert College campus. Join native Parisian Stephanie Lemerond on this virtual trip through the French countryside and must-sees of the "City of Love." The cost for the class is $30 per person.

Rediscovering the Hmong: Thursday, Feb. 26, 6-8 p.m., on the St. Norbert College campus. This workshop provides an overview of Hmong history, culture, traditions and migration to the United States. The cost for the class is $30 per person.
