Mary Evelyn Tucker will visit the St. Norbert College campus as part of the annual Killeen Chair lecture series.

Tucker is senior lecturer and senior research scholar in religion and ecology at Yale University. On Wednesday, Feb. 11, she will present a film, "Journey of the Universe," accompanied by discussion, at 7 p.m. in the Fort Howard Theater in the Bemis International Center on the St. Norbert College campus. On Thursday, Feb. 12, she will give a lecture entitled "Living Within the Universe Story" at 7 p.m. in the Fort Howard Theater. Both events are free and open to the public.

These events constitute the third installment in the Killeen Chair of Theology and Philosophy's four-part 2014-15 lecture series, which is entitled "Science and Religion: Rejecting a False Dichotomy." The aim of the series is to demonstrate the compatibility of science and religion, in keeping with fides et ratio, or "faith and reason," a motto of the Catholic intellectual tradition.

Established in 1984, the Killeen Chair of Theology and Philosophy aims to bring well-known scholars of theology and philosophy, and their work, to the St. Norbert College campus. The program strives to emphasize the importance of theology and philosophy to a liberal arts education, to highlight St. Norbert College's commitment to personally, intellectually and spiritually challenging education, and to benefit the college, the Diocese of Green Bay and the broader community of Northeast Wisconsin.

The Killeen Chair is named after the late Rev. Sylvester Killeen, O.Praem., the second abbot of St. Norbert Abbey and chancellor of the college. For more information on the Killeen Chair, call 920-403-3932 or visit their website at www.snc.edu/killeen.
