St. Norbert College Music Department to Present Winter Band Concert and Winter BandFest Concert

The St. Norbert College music department will present a pair of concerts this weekend. The Winter Band Concert will take place Saturday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m., and the Winter BandFest Concert will take place Sunday, Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. Both concerts will be held in the Walter Theatre of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the St. Norbert College campus.
The Winter Band Concert, on Feb. 14, will feature performances by the St. Norbert College Wind Ensemble, conducted by Michael Knight, assistant professor of music, and featuring John Salerno, adjunct assistant professor of music, on saxophone; and the the St. Norbert College Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Eric High, assistant professor of music. The two ensembles will perform selections by Leonard Bernstein, Robert Sheldon, Tom Garling, Walter Becker & Donald Fagen, Paul Webster & Johnny Mandel and Horace Silver.

The Winter BandFest Concert, on Feb. 15, will feature the High School Honors Band, composed of students from twenty high schools in Wisconsin and Michigan and conducted by Michael Knight. The Honors Band will perform selections by Cecil Macklin, Brant Karrick, Frank Ticheli, Thomas R. Root and Chen Yi.

General admission to each concert is $6; tickets are available at the St. Norbert College Box Office or online at http://tickets.snc.edu. Tickets for events held in the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts are subject to a $1-per-ticket fee, which is used to improve and enhance the facility. Online ordering, return mail, exchange or re-printing of tickets is subject to a $2 convenience fee.
