St. Norbert College Language Services to Hold March Workshops

St. Norbert College Language Services will present a variety of workshops in March, focusing on various aspects of cultures and traditions from around the world. The workshops, which are open to the general public, are listed below. All workshops will take place on the St. Norbert College campus.

Pestos & Vinaigrettes: Wednesday, March 11, 5-7:30 p.m. Chef Tom Vandenbusch, a chef at St. Norbert College for over 10 years, will guide participants in the creation of a variety of pestos and vinaigrettes. "Flying Start" Travel Workshop: China: Saturday, March 14, 10 a.m.-noon. Instructor Ping Wang will guide participants on a virtual trip through the cities and countryside of mainland China. The cost of the workshop is $30 per person, or $25 for members of the St. Norbert College community. Spring Adult Non-credit Language Classes: Classes run for eight weeks, beginning the week of March 23 and running to mid-May; they meet for two hours at a time on various days. Languages offered include Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, French, Italian, Polish, German and Spanish. The classes each cost $160, which includes instruction and materials. Pies Cooking Class: Tuesday, March 24, 5-7:30 pm. The workshop will be led by St. Norbert College baker Kathy Dunn. In this hands-on class, participants will learn about making pastry, double-crust pies, lattice-top pies, crumb crusts, fruit fillings, cream pies and more. "Flying Start" Travel Workshop: Japan: Tuesday, March 31, 6-8 p.m. The workshop will present a virtual trip through the countryside and metropolitan areas of Japan, focusing on Kyoto. The cost of the workshop is $30 per person, or $25 for members of the St. Norbert College community.
