The St. Norbert College branch of Colleges Against Cancer will host the Relay for Life of De Pere on Saturday, April 11. The relay will take place at the Schuldes Sports Center on the St. Norbert College campus, from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

The Relay for Life is an event founded by the American Cancer Society; Relay for Life events are held annually around the world. The goals of Relay for Life are to give communities a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones and fight back against the disease by raising funds and awareness.

Events of the Relay for Life of De Pere will include a Survivors Lap to celebrate those who have battled cancer in the past, a Caregivers Lap to honor those who have cared for people with cancer, and a Luminaria Ceremony that will allow participants to pay tribute to loved ones lost to cancer and show support to people who currently have cancer.

The 2015 iteration of the Relay for Life of De Pere will be the 18th time that St. Norbert College has hosted the annual event. In past years, an average of 42 teams have participated in the event; this year, Colleges Against Cancer has set the goal of 50 participating teams. Forty-three teams are currently registered for the relay; participants have raised more than $2,500 so far.
