Auditions Scheduled for St. Norbert College Music Theatre's Production of Jesus Christ Superstar

Auditions for St. Norbert College Music Theatre's July production of Jesus Christ Superstar will be held in the St. Norbert College Walter Theatre at 6:30 p.m. on May 26 and 27. The musical will be directed by James P. Birder with musical direction by Dudley Birder.

Jesus Christ Superstar opened in New York in 1969 and is considered Andrew Lloyd Webber's greatest work. A rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar calls for a cast of eight principals, four supporting roles and twelve-member male chorus (The Twelve Apostles) and an additional chorus of ten women. Many cameo roles are filed by members of the chorus.

Individuals auditioning should prepare a song of their choosing. An accompanist will be provided. Also, several people are needed to work on costumes, make-up, lighting, sets and running crew. Those interested are asked to come to auditions and sign up.

Seven performances are scheduled in the Walter Theatre, July 22-30. Tickets are now available for Jesus Christ Superstar and can be purchased by calling the St. Norbert College ticket office, 920-403-3950, 800-762-2699 or on line at http://tickets.snc.edu.
