Larry Scheich and Tim Flood, professors at St. Norbert College, will be the guests on the September "Conversations From St. Norbert College" television show. Scheich, associate dean of natural sciences and professor of chemistry, and Flood, professor of geology, will discuss how the new state-of-the-art science center came to be and their roles in the college's most significant capital building initiative to date.
The $40 million Gehl-Mulva Science Center has transformed the former science facility, with a complete renovation of the main building and construction of additions at the east and west ends. The multi-level expansion increased the size of the building to 160,000 square feet. The center houses the physics, math, psychology, geology, biology and chemistry disciplines. It has 45 teaching/research labs, 10 classrooms, one large lecture hall, 15 student study lounges and offices for 38 faculty. The laboratories feature state-of-the-art equipment; the classrooms are equipped with the latest technology. The Gehl-Mulva Science Center also serves as the primary home of the Medical College of Wisconsin's Green Bay campus, which welcomed its first class of students this July.
New "Conversations" shows appear the first Friday of each month. The series airs on TWCT Time Warner Cable Television Channel 4 in Green Bay, Howard/Suamico and Seymour; Channel 4 in the Fox Cities; Channel 2 in Neenah/Menasha; and on NET cable Channel 46 in Pulaski. The show also airs on St. Norbert College Channel 5 in De Pere, Ashwaubenon and Bellevue on Sundays at 9:30 a.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.
The show can also be seen on Wisconsin on Demand (WIoD), Time Warner Cable's local video-on-demand channel (411). It is available free to Time Warner Cable's digital customers in 70 communities in northeast Wisconsin.
