Kim Bassett, president and CEO of Bassett Mechanical, will present " 'By Failing to Prepare, You are Preparing to Fail'-- Benjamin Franklin. One Family's Journey through Business Succession" as part of St. Norbert College's CEO Breakfast and Strategy Series on Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Butte des Morts Country Club in Appleton, Wis. The session sponsor is Bank Mutual.

Kim Bassett joined Bassett Mechanical in 1996 as a maintenance sales representative. She worked in the shop and out in the field alongside the sheet-metal workers and pipe fitters, doing everything from assisting with the duct installations to working on rooftops for ammonia piping projects.
Bassett also served in the HVAC and refrigeration departments as an estimator and project manager. Following this, she worked for a year in business development before taking on the service sales manager role in 2004. In 2007, she was appointed president and chief operating officer with overall responsibility for daily operations and setting strategic direction.
Kim was unanimously voted president and chief executive officer at Bassett in 2009. This appointment marked the culmination of a long-term succession plan to prepare her for the top job.

Today, in her service as president and CEO, Bassett provides a link from the board to the executive leadership team, and serves to set the culture and engage the leadership team in strategic planning and execution of Bassett Mechanical.

The CEO Breakfast and Strategy Series is an outreach to the business community by the Office of the President at St. Norbert College, featuring presentations by distinguished local, regional and national business leaders.

The registration fee is $60 for an individual session, or $450 for the entire 8-session series. For more information or to register, contact St. Norbert College at http://tickets.snc.edu/tickets, email jamie.mcguire@snc.edu or visit http://www.snc.edu/ceobreakfast.

The presenting sponsor for the CEO Series is WPS Health Insurance/Arise Health Plan, and the title sponsors are Wipfli, Johnson Bank, Johnson Insurance, Insight Publications and Imaginasium.
