St. Norbert College Music Department to Present Winter Band Concert and Winter BandFest Concert

The St. Norbert College music department will present a pair of concerts this weekend. The Winter Band Concert will take place Saturday, Feb. 13, at 7 p.m., and the Winter BandFest Concert will take place Sunday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. Both concerts will be held in the Walter Theatre of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the St. Norbert College campus.
The Winter Band Concert, on Feb. 13, will feature performances by the St. Norbert College Wind Ensemble, conducted by assistant professor of music Michael Knight and featuring Frank Salerno on electric guitar, and by the St. Norbert College Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Eric High, assistant professor of music. The two ensembles will perform selections by Malcolm Arnold, Ola Gjeilo, Jim Bonney, Maria Schneider, Fran Landesman & Tommy Wolf, Joe Henderson and Sammy Nestico.
The Winter BandFest Concert, on Feb. 14, will again feature the St. Norbert College Wind Ensemble, as well as the 2016 Winter BandFest Honors Band, composed of more than 60 students from area high schools and conducted by Michael Knight. The Honors Band will perform selections by Robert Sheldon, Clare Grundman, Gustav Mahler, Dmitri Shostakovich and Genaro Codina.
General admission to each of the concerts is $6; tickets are available at the St. Norbert College Box Office or online at http://tickets.snc.edu. Tickets for events held in the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts are subject to a $1-per-ticket fee, which is used to improve and enhance the facility. Online ordering, return mail, exchange or re-printing of tickets is subject to a $2 convenience fee.
