Darren Rovell, an Emmy-award winning reporter for ESPN, will speak at the Sport and Society Conference hosted by St. Norbert College and the Green Bay Packers, May 23-25, 2016. The theme of the conference is "The Business of College Sports."

Rovell will take part in a panel discussion at Lambeau Field on Wednesday, May 25, 9:30 to 11 a.m. He will be joined by former Packer and current CBS college football analyst Aaron Taylor, and former WNBA great and Wisconsin native Anna De Forge. Kevin Quinn, founding dean of the Donald J. Schneider School of Business & Economics and leading sports economist at St. Norbert College, will moderate the discussion.

Rovell analyzes the business of sports for all of ESPN's programming and content initiatives, including "SportsCenter," "Outside the Lines" and ESPN.com. Rovell re-joined ESPN in August 2012 after a six-year stint with CNBC and NBC Sports Network, where he hosted a show called "CNBC Sports Biz."
Rovell is an influencer in the social media world with more than 760,000 followers on Twitter and more than 49,000 followers on Periscope, Twitter's live streaming app.

He has also authored several books, including "First In Thirst: How Gatorade Turned the Science of Sweat Into a Cultural Phenomenon" and "On the Ball: What You Can Learn About Business From America's Sports Leaders." Rovell has also hosted five one-hour documentaries, including one on the business of Nike, which was nominated for an Emmy. He received an Emmy in 2007 as part of NBC's election night coverage.
This is the fourth Sport and Society conference of its kind put on by St. Norbert and the Packers. The first conference was held in 2010. This partnership between an NFL team and an institution of higher education brings together academics and business professionals from around the country.

Formal conference registration will open on March 1, 2016, and close on April 1, 2016. Registration will be limited.

For more information on the conference, go to http://www.snc.edu/sportandsociety, or contact Karen Cleereman, conference administrative coordinator, at sportandsociety@snc.edu or 920-403-3777.
The Packers have held their summer training camp at St. Norbert College for 58 years, the longest such relationship in the NFL between a pro football team and a college.
