St. Norbert College Community Outreach & Language Services will present a variety of workshops this March, including several cooking classes and adult non-credit language courses. The workshops, which are open to the general public, are listed below.
Host a Cocktail or Hors D'oeuvres Party
Tuesday, March 8, 5-7:30 p.m. on the St. Norbert College campus (room TBD). In this class, chefs BJ Georgia and Donna Pirman will show participants how to host the perfect cocktail party for friends and family, complete with irresistible hors d'oeuvres. They will share their ideas on buffet decorating tips, upscale gourmet twists on traditional favorite appetizers and helpful do-ahead tips for stress-free entertaining. The night will end with a plentiful tasting of all the hors d'oeuvres. The cost of the workshop is $40; the registration deadline is March 1.

Scandinavian Pastries Cooking Class
Saturday, March 12, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., at Southern Door High School in Brussels. In this workshop, led by local chef Jon Lutgen, participants will learn to create a variety of eye-appealing and delicious Scandinavian treats. Lutgen will demonstrate how Scandinavian countries create pastries like Brunsviger (bread-like cake), Kartoffelkage (choux pastry with marzipan) and Medaljer (cakes with chocolate and pastry cream filling), in addition to popular Danish pastries like bear claws and lemon cream Danishes.
The cost of the workshop is $40; the registration deadline is March 4.
Adult Non-Credit Language Classes St. Norbert College's adult non-credit language classes run for eight weeks from March 21 to May 12, in two-hour evening sessions at various days and times on the college campus.
