The winners of the 23rd annual Golden Apple Awards, which recognize the accomplishments of Green Bay area teachers, have been named, and seven St. Norbert College graduates are among the honorees.

The Golden Apple Awards are organized by the Greater Green Bay Chamber's Partners in Education program. The event's organizers reviewed applications to select 40 "Teachers of Distinction" who exemplify the values and standards set by the National Board of Professional Teaching. These finalists were narrowed down to the top 12, who were then interviewed by a panel of judges to determine the six award winners. Chamber staff and school district administrators paid surprise visits to the winning teachers' classrooms to notify them of their awards.

Stefanie Jochman, a 2007 graduate of St. Norbert College, is one of the six Golden Apple Award winners named this year. In addition, the top 40 "Teachers of Distinction" recognized by the awards include six other St. Norbert College graduates: Cassandra Burns '10, Amy Heusterberg-Richards '07, Ashley Kennen '15, Amy Kline '96, Elizabeth Kust '04 and Victoria LeFevre '10.
The Golden Apple Award winners will be honored at a reception and awards ceremony held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Green Bay. Those who wish to attend the event can register at http://events.titletown.org/sbaweb/events/events.asp?details=true&cale_id=1494&month=3/2/2016. The cost of attendance is $50.
