The Dudley Birder Chorale of St. Norbert College has announced Sarah Servais, a senior at Green Bay Preble High School, as the recipient of the 2016 Robert and Carol Bush Vocal Music Award. Servais will be presented with an award of $500 at the Chorale's Friday, May 6 performance of its "America Sings" concert. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Walter Theater of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the college campus; Servais will also appear as a featured soloist.

Along with Servais' prize, her vocal music teacher, Sara Holub, will also receive $500, and Preble High School will be awarded $300 for its choral library.

Robert and Carol Bush established the endowed program that sponsors the Vocal Music Award in 2003. The award's recipients are selected from high schools located in communities represented by membership in the Dudley Birder Chorale, including schools in Brown, Outagamie, Kewaunee, Shawano, Door, Manitowoc and Oconto counties. The students who compete for the award are recommended by their teachers as outstanding junior or senior vocal students in their respective schools. Auditions for the award were held on Sunday, April 24 at St. Norbert College.
