St. Norbert College Music Theatre Presents “Into the Woods”

St. Norbert College Music Theatre will present a production of the award-winning hit musical "Into the Woods" as the second show of its summer 2016 season. "Into the Woods" will run for five performances July 20-24 in the Walter Theatre of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the college campus.

Twenty performers, many of whom have appeared in principal roles in previous St. Norbert College Music Theatre musicals, have been selected through auditions and are currently in rehearsal.

The production will be directed by James Birder with Dudley Birder serving as music director. The production staff also includes Corey Pinchart, set design; Andrew Schmidt, lighting; Chris Gabryszek, sound; Wendy Huber, props; Linda Feldmann, costume design and Lois Gegare, wigs and makeup.

"Into the Woods" premiered on Broadway in 1987, winning seven Tony Awards. The musical intertwines the plots of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales with main characters taken from Little Red Ridinghood, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk and Rapunzel. The 2014 film adaptation received three Academy Awards.
