St. Norbert College's teacher education program will team up with UW Oshkosh to offer a certification partnership. As a result of the partnership, students enrolled in the education program at St. Norbert will now have the option to pursue special education certification.

"The partnership between St. Norbert College and University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is unique as it brings together private and public higher education. The partnership will allow us to meet a need in our local schools by providing a certification pathway in the area where the state grants the most emergency licenses, special education. We are thrilled to be able to provide this opportunity for students who wish to attend St. Norbert College," said Jeff Frick, dean of the college and academic vice president at St. Norbert.

Beginning their junior year, students will register for their courses at St. Norbert but will take online courses from UW Oshkosh. No travel is involved other than a one-day orientation at UW Oshkosh.

St. Norbert College has one of the few education programs in the state through which students can get dual licensure and yet still finish their degree in four years.

St. Norbert offers multiple certification options at both the elementary and secondary levels. Students also are involved in diverse educational settings throughout their four years at St. Norbert.
