St. Norbert College's gladU Program for Girls Begins Saturday

St. Norbert College is presenting gladU beginning this Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The program, for girls 8-12, is designed to empower them to unlock their greatest potential through mentorship, reflection and action.
Sessions include:

Identity: What Contributes to and Affects Who You Are?

Communication: Finding Your Voice

Appearance Pressure: Learning to Love U
Under Pressure: Expectations and You

Limitless Future: Career Exploration and Goals

Worldview: Women's Issues Worldwide

gladU runs October through May, meeting one Saturday each month on the St. Norbert College campus. The program's staff are all Wisconsin-certified female teachers, and St. Norbert College students serve as mentors. All staff are specifically chosen for their ability to serve as positive role models and their passion for women's issues.

Dates for this year's sessions are Oct. 15, Nov. 19, Jan. 21, Feb. 18, March. 11, April 8 and May 6, and sessions meet 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Cassandra Voss Center at St. Norbert College. The cost for the entire school-year program is $350. A workshop on communication for mothers of tweens and teenage girls will be held on Jan. 2, and is included in the cost of registration.
