More than 200 students attended the St. Norbert College Dance Marathon on Saturday, Nov. 5, staying on their feet from 9 a.m. to 10:06 p.m., a total of 13.1 hours -- the hourly equivalent to half of a running marathon's 26.2 miles. By the end of that time, the marathon had raised $56,007.04, a record amount at the college and for any Dance Marathon held in Wisconsin, surpassing their 2016 goal of $50,000.

Nineteen families whose children receive care from the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin attended the event, including 21 children from those families. In solidarity, many of the St. Norbert students who attended the marathon decided to shave or cut their hair and donate it to children with cancer.

The St. Norbert College Dance Marathon is an entirely student-run event, planned and managed by a student organization of about 40 members. In four years as an organization, Dance Marathon at St. Norbert has raised a total of $152,504.10.
