St. Norbert College's gladU program, along with the Cassandra Voss Center, will host a Mom's Day Out Retreat for mothers of teen and 'tween girls on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Michels Ballroom on the college campus. gladU fosters awareness and provides support during pivotal transition periods in young women's lives.

The focus of the retreat is how to effectively support and facilitate communication with today's young women in the midst of a rapidly changing and challenging culture.

The keynote speaker is Karlyn Crowley, professor of English and director of the Cassandra Voss Center (CVC) at St. Norbert. The CVC houses the Joan P. Schaupp Women's Center, the Men's Initiative, the women's and gender studies discipline and other student amenities.

Crowley will speak on "A Manifesto for Girls Entering Kindergarten." Also featured will be a panel of mothers of teen/'tween girls, a presentation on social media's influence on mental health, and a presentation by a mother/daughter duo entitled "What I Learned From My Mom."

Cost of the program is $30 including breakfast and lunch. To register for the Mom's Day Out Retreat, go to https://www.snc.edu/tickets/.
