St. Norbert College president Thomas Kunkel will be a guest speaker for the fourth event in a five-part series, "Inside Innovation," on Feb. 20, at 5:30 p.m. at Legend's restaurant in De Pere, 875 Heritage Road. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required at http://www.de-pere.kiwanisone.org.

Instead of a traditional speaker format, "Inside Innovation" will be conducted in an interview style. The candid conversation will be between President Kunkel and Mike Counter, director of media relations at St. Norbert College. The focus of the interview will be on Kunkel's legacy during his time at St. Norbert and how the college fits into the ever-evolving De Pere and greater Green Bay economies.

Kunkel has overseen the construction and renovation of more than $130 million in campus facilities and infrastructure, including the Gehl-Mulva Science Center and its South Teaching, the Mulva Library, and others. Additionally, the college's enrollment has reached record levels, as has the academic profile of the college's student body. Further, under President Kunkel, St. Norbert has climbed in national private and liberal arts college rankings. He will leave his post as the seventh president of St. Norbert College on May 31.

Counter joined the college in 2003 and manages local, state and national media relations to share stories about St. Norbert College students, faculty, staff and alumni. He also produces the television show "Conversations From St. Norbert College" and oversees multimedia projects for the college, including videos showcasing the talents of students, faculty and staff at St. Norbert.
