The St. Norbert College Relay for Life will take place on Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Campus Center, 419 First St., on the college campus. Registration is $10 per person and can be found at http://www.snc.edu/go/relayforlife. This year's event, Connect4aCure, has a fundraising goal of $33,000. Hosted by the student organization Colleges Against Cancer, the event is open to all in the De Pere and Green Bay communities. Local businesses are invited to lend their support, as well.

Activities at this year's Relay for Life include music, games, challenges, survivors' lap and caregivers' lap on the track, a balloon release and more.

Relay for Life was founded by the American Cancer Society and is held annually in 19 countries, on six continents and in over 4,700 communities. It began in 1985 when Gordy Klatt, M.D., a practicing surgeon, walked around a track in Tacoma, Wash., for 24 hours and raised $27,000 for his local American Cancer Society. The goals of Relay for Life are to give communities a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones and fight back against the disease by raising funds and awareness.
