St. Norbert Undergraduate Business Students Honored at Statewide Conference

St. Norbert College undergraduate business students recently participated in the Phi Beta Lambda Wisconsin State Leadership Conference in Madison, Wis. The seven students are part of the newly created chapter of Phi Beta Lambda at St. Norbert College. Led by junior Autumn Mertes (Elkhart Lake, Wis.), president and founder of the St. Norbert College chapter, the other six students included: Hannah Copiskey (Bailey's Harbor, Wis.), Anne Geenen (Appleton, Wis.), Billy Hammarstrom (New Berlin, Wis.), Maddie Hammarstrom (New Berlin, Wis.), Josh Kramer (Iron Mountain, Mich.) and Sam Senerchia (Evergreen Park, Ill.).

Five of the seven students competed in events at the conference. Those students that won and their respective awards are listed below:

Anne Geenen: First place in the social media challenge, with Autumn Mertes

Billy Hammarstrom: Second place in macroeconomics

Autumn Mertes: Third place in sports management and marketing; first place in the social media challenge, with Anne Geenen

The organization is also planning to send six of the seven students to the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif. in June.

The purpose of Phi Beta Lambda is to provide opportunities for St. Norbert College students to develop business-related career skills while promoting a sense of civic and personal responsibility.
