St. Norbert College is opening its doors to the community on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., for the college's ninth annual SNC Day. Admission is free.
SNC Day provides an opportunity for area residents to visit campus and learn more about what the college has to offer. The event will feature three stages of musical entertainment, boat rides on the Fox River provided by River Tyme, Segway tours, horse-drawn wagon rides through campus, many children's activities, and many different food options, including several favorite local food trucks and refreshments provided by Titletown Brewing Company. Highlights this year will include beautifully restored vintage cars on display from The Automobile Gallery and many activities hosted in the newest campus addition, the Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center. Kids and adults alike will be able to join the college's athletics teams for contests, find out more about the ROTC program and try the rock-climbing wall. The college's Health and Wellness Center will host educational activities focusing on the eight dimensions of wellness; classes/demos will include self-defense, yoga and Tai-Chi.

The Don Schneider Memorial 5K Challenge Run will kick off the day, beginning at 9:30 a.m. -- all ages are welcome and the $15 registration fee includes a student-designed long-sleeved T-shirt. Registration is available on the SNC Day website: http://www.snc.edu/sncday.

Packer mania will be on display at the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, where "Cheeseheads: The Documentary" will be featured, along with scenes from "The Vagabond Halfback," the story of Johnny "Blood" McNally. A panel discussion with the director, playwright and author will follow and will include former Packers players.

The college's F. K. Bemis International Center will host global-themed activities, including 30-minute language classes, authentic international foods and the No Borders Virtual Reality Room.

Visit the Gehl-Mulva Science Center for fascinating biology and physics demonstrations and find out more about the Medical College of Wisconsin's home at SNC, where you'll be able to learn about the human body through a 3-D, state-of-the art anatomage table.

Elsewhere on campus, you'll be able to participate in the breakout-room phenomena, learn more about the Norbertine fathers' history in northeast Wisconsin, join the campus-wide scavenger hunt, take ballroom-dancing classes and view a crew demonstration.

Todd Wehr Hall will host Curiosity Day with Curious George celebrity book readings and hands-on activities. There will be faculty lectures on a wide variety of topics, followed by book signings. Autism awareness information and sensory spaces will also be available.

An art market will feature local and regional artists -- enjoy the display or find something special to take home.
