St. Norbert College Welcomes New Faculty for 2017-18

St. Norbert College welcomes the following new faculty members for the 2017-18 academic year:

Angel Saavedra Cisneros: St. Norbert College welcomes Angel Saavedra Cisneros as an assistant professor of political science. Cisneros earned his B.S. in psychology from Brigham Young University and his Ph.D. in political behavior from Stony Brook University. His work focuses on racial and ethnic politics in the American context, and elections and political institutions in the Latin American context.

Katie Ginsbach: The St. Norbert College community welcomes Katie Ginsbach as an assistant professor of Spanish. She earned her B.A. in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, her M.A. in Spanish literature and culture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and will be earning her Ph.D. in Spanish literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her scholarship focuses on the historical novel and the way the past is reimagined in contemporary Spanish literature and culture.

Allison Hahn: The college community welcomes Allison Hahn as a visiting professor of psychology. She earned her B.A. in zoology and psychology from Northern Michigan University; her M.S. in psychology is from the same institution. She earned her Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Alberta. Her research focuses on vocal communication with an emphasis in the production and perception of vocalizations from songbirds.

John Hennecken: St. Norbert College welcomes John Hennecken as an assistant professor of music. He earned his B.A. from Georgia College & State University and his D.M.A. in music composition from the University of Georgia. An active composer, his music has been performed in the United States and across Europe and Asia, recorded, and published.

Joanna Huegel: The college welcomes Joanna Huegel as an adjunct instructor of teacher education. She earned her B.S. in teaching with a double major in special and elementary education. She earned her Master of Education degree with a focus in teaching and learning from St. Mary's university. She has worked directly in education for 17 years and specializes in teaching adolescents with exceptionalities in the secondary setting. She is also currently a special education and English language arts teacher at Foxview Intermediate School in De Pere.

Emily Kincaid: The St. Norbert College community welcomes Emily Kincaid as an adjunct instructor of English. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a B.A. in English and Spanish and earned her M.A. in English from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. Her research interests focus on the legacy of language and power in composition.

Philip Klickman: St. Norbert College welcomes Philip Klickman as an assistant professor of music. He earned his B.S., M.S. and Ed.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his M.M. in horn performance from the University of Illinois. He most recently taught music in public schools of suburban Chicago and served as the director of bands and instrumental music education at Frostburg State University in Maryland.

Hannah Mead Kling: The college community welcomes Hannah Mead Kling as an assistant professor of economics. She earned a B.A. in economics from Hillsdale College in Michigan and her M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University in Virginia. Her research uses mapping and modeling techniques to analyze the economic causes and consequences of urban segregation.

Jacob Laubacher: St. Norbert College welcomes Jacob Laubacher as a visiting assistant professor of mathematics. He earned a B.S. in mathematics from Ohio Dominican University and an M.A. in pure mathematics from Kent State University. He earned his Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University. He is an algebraist with research focusing mainly on homological algebra, group theory and category theory.

Eric Lewellyn: The college community welcomes Eric Lewellyn as an assistant professor of biology. He earned a Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley. His research uses brewers' yeast as an easy and safe tool to learn about basic cell biology, virus biology and genome editing.

Christina Mirisis: The St. Norbert College community welcomes Christina Mirisis as a visiting assistant professor of modern languages and literatures. She earned a B.A. in Spanish, Italian and linguistics from the College of New Jersey, Ewing. She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in Hispanic linguistics from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Her scholarship focuses on second-language acquisition.

Christine M. Moeller: The college welcomes Christine M. Moeller as the information literacy and instruction librarian. She earned her M.A. in library and information science from the University of Iowa and is currently completing a certificate in instructional design from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Her research centers on critical pedagogical praxis and integrating information literacy across the curriculum.

Jihyun Nam: St. Norbert College welcomes Jihyun Nam as an assistant professor of teacher education. He earned his M.A. in TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Language) and applied linguistics as well as his Ph.D. in language education from Indiana University Bloomington. Before coming to the United States, he earned B.A. degrees in German and English education and an M.Ed. in English education in South Korea. Prior to arriving at St. Norbert, he taught graduate courses in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and TESOL at the University of South Florida and Campbellsville University, respectively. His research focuses on approaches to critical discourse analysis, ethnography and qualitative methodology.

Gretchen Panzer: The college community welcomes Gretchen Panzer as an adjunct instructor of women's and gender studies. She earned a B.A. in English and women's and gender studies from St. Norbert College and an M.A. in gender studies from Indiana University Bloomington. She is interested in representations of reproduction and kinship formation in literature and media, particularly in the genres of science fiction and fantasy.

Gerardo Rodríguez: The St. Norbert College community welcomes Gerardo Rodríguez as an assistant professor of theology and religious studies. He earned a B.A. from Simpson College and an M.A. from St. John's University. He earned a Ph.D. in early Christianity from Saint Louis University. His research focuses on Latino and Latina theologies.

Aberra Tesfay: St. Norbert College welcomes Aberra Tesfay as a visiting professor of political science. He earned an M.A. in political science from Boston College and an M.A. and M.Div. in theology from Catholic Theological Union. He earned his Ph.D. in political science from Boston University. His research interests include international relations, comparative politics, philosophy and theology.

Yurou Zhou: The college welcomes Yurou Zhou as an adjunct instructor of Mandarin Chinese. She earned a B.Eng. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is studying for her MBA in supply-chain and manufacturing at St. Norbert College.
