St. Norbert College will be offering an invite-only hands-on science workshop weekend for middle school girls on Sept. 29-30, called "STEM Girls Rock," in which the girls will work with St. Norbert College faculty, students and alumni. The event will take place in the Gehl-Mulva Science Center on the college campus and there is no fee for participation. Girls will be hosted overnight at the college on Friday, Sept. 29, and all meals and supplies will be included. Transportation is available if needed.

The participants attending have been nominated by middle school teachers from the Green Bay and De Pere areas. The weekend is designed to build confidence in girls by providing them with academic opportunities and encouragement from undergraduate female scientists. The goal of STEM Girls Rock is to make math and science "cool," thereby inspiring the next generation of STEM women. The program leaders want the girls to see the creativity and purpose in science and math, as well as the accessibility for women.
