St. Norbert College to Offer Community Engagement Classes in February

St. Norbert College announces its community outreach offerings for February. The workshops and classes take place at varying locations with different registration fees, noted below. Registration for all offerings is available at http://www.snc.edu/outreach.

European and African Fusion Cooking Class

This class will take place on Monday, Feb. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown County Culinary Kitchen, 2900 Curry Lane in Green Bay. Registration is $40 per person and includes instruction, food and materials. Register by Jan. 26. Indulge in a Mediterranean appetizer: olive spread with goat cheese, brie, walnuts and sundried tomatoes. Follow it up with a green pepper and tomato salad, accompanied by Algerian homemade bread. The entree will be Tajine Zitoun: (chicken with green olives, lemon and North African spices) and end your meal with North African tea.
Surfing the Web Safely Workshop

This class will take place on Wednesday, Feb 7, 2- 3:30 p.m. on the St. Norbert campus. Registration is $15 per person and is required by Feb 1. In this session, you'll learn how to browse the Internet safely and securely, how to keep your passwords and accounts safe and how to avoid internet scams.

Understanding Somali Workshop

This class will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. on the St. Norbert campus. Registration is $15 per person and is required by Feb 1. The Somali workshop is designed for educators, health care workers, social services workers and others who work directly with the Somali population. Participants will gain a basic understanding of the Somali culture, language and experience in northeast Wisconsin.

No-Meat Meals Cooking Class

This class will be held on Tuesday, Feb 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at First United Presbyterian Church, 605 North Webster Ave. in De Pere. Registration is $35 per person and includes instruction, food and materials. Register by Feb. 6. This is an opportunity to expand your menu selections and dine on wonderful alternative meals.
