Jeffrey N. Gingold, an internationally acclaimed award-winning author and advocate for Holocaust education, will speak at St. Norbert College at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26. His talk will be held in the presentation room of the Mulva Library and is free and open to the public.

Gingold will share the true story of his father's and grandmother's survival during the Holocaust, as relayed in his book, "Tunnel, Smuggle, Collect: A Holocaust Boy." Gingold's father, Sam, was only 7 years old in 1939 when Germany invaded Poland. Sam and his family were taken to the Warsaw Ghetto, where the young boy helped his family survive by smuggling food and medicines. The family made a daring escape from the ghetto, and the book describes their elusive run from the Gestapo.
Gingold's presentation is coordinated by the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center in Milwaukee (HERC). Gingold contributes 100 percent of the proceeds from his book to HERC.
