St. Norbert College to Host Art Gala Benefit for Best Buddies Organization

The St. Norbert College student organization Best Buddies, a chapter of the global organization of the same name, will be hosting its first art gala on Saturday, Feb. 17, from 7-9 p.m. in the Cassandra Voss Center, 311 Grant St., De Pere. The event is free and open to the public.

Artwork created by the buddies will be auctioned off in both oral and silent auctions, with half the proceeds going to fund the St. Norbert College chapter of Best Buddies, and the other half of the proceeds from each piece going directly to the buddy. The event will also include time for attendees to interact with the buddies and learn more about each individual.

Best Buddies pairs a St. Norbert College student with an individual that has intellectual and developmental disabilities (the "buddy"), providing the opportunity for students to learn more about the lives of these individuals and for the buddy to form new friendships and be part of a community.
