Auditions Set for "Jekyll & Hyde" at St. Norbert College

St. Norbert College Music Theatre will present a Next Stage production of Steve Cuden and Frank Wildhorn’s classic “Jekyll & Hyde.” The production will run Aug. 8 through 12 in the Walter Theatre of the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts. Next Stage will cast area high school theater and drama students, as well as band and technician students. High school students with at least one year of experience are encouraged to audition. Cast and technician auditions will be held in Dudley Birder Hall, 400 Grant St., De Pere. Pit orchestra auditions will be in Walter Theatre, Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, 315 Third St., De Pere. Saturday, May 19
Pit orchestra Auditions: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Walter Theatre, Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts
Sunday, May 20

Monday, May 21
Cast and technicians: start at 6:30 p.m., Dudley Birder Hall
Tuesday, May 22

All those auditioning are asked to arrive early. Those auditioning for the cast are asked to prepare a musical theater song, about 32 measures long, preferably memorized, with accompanist music for the provided accompanist.
Those auditioning for the pit orchestra are asked to prepare a musical excerpt found at https://www.snc.edu/nextstage/. You will also be asked to sight read.
Those auditioning for a technician role are asked to attend a cast audition day to discuss interest in technical theater.
Callbacks will be held Wednesday, May 23, at Dudley Birder Hall beginning at 6:30 p.m. Those called back will be notified by email.
“Jekyll & Hyde” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI, with music by Frank Wildhorn, book by Leslie Bricusse, orchestrations by Kim Sharnberg and arrangements by Jason Howland. Teresa Schmidt, former Notre Dame Academy choral director, will direct the production. Notre Dame Academy faculty member Andrea Hearden will co-direct. Associate Academic Dean Michael Rosewall, professor of music, will be music director.
