St. Norbert College is opening its doors to the community on Saturday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., for the college’s 10th annual SNC Day. Admission is free.
SNC Day provides an opportunity for area residents to visit campus and learn more about what the college has to offer. The event will feature three stages of musical entertainment, boat rides on the Fox River provided by River Tyme, Segway tours, horse-drawn wagon rides through campus, many children’s activities, and many different food options, including several favorite local food trucks and refreshments provided by Titletown Brewing.

Highlights this year will include beautifully restored vintage cars on display from The Automobile Gallery and special activities marking the 10th anniversary of the event. There will be an exhibit of The Saint John’s Bible, the first illuminated handwritten Bible in 500 years, walking tours of the college’s religious art and sculptures, and tours of St. Norbert Abbey (with transportation from campus provided). The Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center will host activities for all ages. The college’s athletics teams will be on hand, there will be a rock-climbing wall and basketball dunk contest, and the Health & Wellness Center will host educational activities focusing on the eight dimensions of wellness. Classes and demos will include self-defense, CPR and Tai Chi.

The Lamers trolley will provide transportation to and from Schneider Stadium for the 1 p.m. St. Norbert vs. Grinnell College football game. Admission to this event is also free.

The Don Schneider Memorial 5K Challenge Run will kick off the day, beginning at 9:30 a.m. All ages are welcome and the $15 registration fee includes a student-
designed long-sleeved T-shirt. Registration is available on the SNC Day website: http:www.snc.edu/sncday.
The theaters in the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts will feature the Green Bay Film Festival, showing a variety of shorts and documentaries, and the play “Lombardi.”

The college’s F. K. Bemis International Center will host global-themed activities, including 30-minute language classes, a #YouAreWelcomeHere photo booth, and the No Borders Virtual Reality Room.

Visit the Gehl-Mulva Science Center for fascinating biology and physics demonstrations, and find out more about the Medical College of Wisconsin’s home at St. Norbert. MCW will be hosting treats and a poster scavenger hunt.
The Cassandra Voss Center will host presentations on environmental issues, including growing your own food and the power of worms, Land Scouts nature activities, and a visit by Smokey Bear.
Elsewhere on campus, you’ll be able to participate in the breakout-room phenomena, learn more about the Norbertine fathers’ history in northeast Wisconsin, join the campus-wide scavenger hunt, take ballroom-dancing classes and view a crew demonstration.

There will be faculty lectures on a wide variety of topics; some samples include ”The Science of a Happy Marriage,” “The Chemistry of Chocolate,” “The Ethics of Making Employees Ethical” and “Chronic-Wasting Disease in White-Tailed Deer.”

An art market will feature local and regional artists. Enjoy the display or find something special to take home.
