The Norman Miller Center for Peace, Justice & Public Understanding will present a concert featuring renowned blues guitarist Scott Ainslie on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. The concert will take place at the Walter Theatre in the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts, 315 Third St., De Pere. It is free and open to the public.

While coming of age during the Civil Rights era, Ainslie cultivated an affinity for cross-cultural exchange. Throughout his musical career, he has studied old-time Southern Appalachian fiddle and banjo traditions, as well as black gospel and blues. He specializes in performing programs on the European and African roots of American music and culture in community and educational settings. His performances present a palette of sounds and stories that will delight the ear, awaken the mind and satisfy the heart.

The Norman Miller Center for Peace, Justice & Public Understanding cultivates awareness, compassion and commitment to justice and the building of sustainable peace. The center champions human dignity and is a partner for change, promoting hope through action.
