The St. Norbert College theatre program will present “Almost, Maine,” by John Cariani, beginning Friday, Nov. 2, and running through Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Webb Theatre in the Abbot Pennings Hall of Fine Arts on the college’s campus. A special discussion with the cast and crew will take place after the Nov. 4 performance.

Propelled by the mystical energy of the aurora borealis and populated with characters who are humorous, plain-spoken and sincere, “Almost, Maine” is a series of loosely connected tales about love, each with a compelling couple at its center. On one deeply cold and magical midwinter night, the citizens of Almost, Maine, (not organized enough for a town, and too populated for a wilderness) experience the life-altering power of the human heart. Relationships end, begin or change beyond recognition, as strangers become friends, friends become lovers and lovers turn into strangers.

“Almost, Maine” is directed by Erin Hunsader, visiting assistant professor of theatre studies at St. Norbert College. Scenic design and technical direction are by Corey Pinchart, assistant technical direction is by Brittney Roffers, and costume design is by James Viall, a senior at St. Norbert College. Two St. Norbert College faculty members appear in the predominantly student cast, including Steve Westergan, associate professor of humanities, and Sarah Parks, associate professor of music. Original music is being composed by John Hennecken, assistant professor of music.
The crew and cast include: Julia Camarillo (Berwyn, Ill), Abby Charlier (De Pere, Wis.), Samm Dick (Reedsburg, Wis.), John Dicks (Lake Villa, Ill.), Bethany Doll (Mt. Calvary, Wis.), Taylor Donoval (Chicago, Ill.), Sammi Dyson (Slinger, Wis.), Will Fischer (Green Bay, Wis.), Elynor Gregorich (Greenwood, Wis.), Marissa Helchen, (Menomonee Falls, Wis.), Michael Kielty (Monroe, Wis.), Janelle Knick (Kaukauna, Wis.), Kacie Ley (De Pere, Wis.), Kylie Marsden (Montgomery, Ill.), Nevena Prebiracevic (Podgorica, Montenegro), Micaela Rozmarenoski (Wrightstown, Wis.), Mallory Shefchik (Green Bay, Wis.), Jordan Schuman (Menomonee Falls, Wis.), Anthony Tellier (Glen Flora, Ill.), Emily Tomcek (Denmark, Wis.), Katy Verheyden (De Pere, Wis.)
