St. Norbert College Holding Annual Soul Food Dinner

St. Norbert College will hold its annual Soul Food Dinner on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 5 p.m., in the Michels Ballroom on the college campus, 409 Third St., De Pere. This event is open to the public. Tickets are $14 for the general public and $12 for children ages 5 to 12; children 4 and under are free. Families are encouraged to attend. Tickets may be purchased at http://www.snc.edu/tickets or by calling the St. Norbert College Box Office at 920-403-3950.

This annual celebration will feature the gifts in African American scholarship, food and music. The keynote speaker will be the Rev. Rashad Grove. Grove is a pastor at First Baptist Church of Wayne, Penn. Grove has written articles for several academic journals and publications. He also was a fellow at the Black Theology & Leadership Institute at Princeton Seminary.

Entertainment will be provided by the Knightingales Step Team from Beloit, Wis. St. Norbert College students Jasmine Babineaux and Marquise Weatherall will also perform.

Food will be served buffet-style and will consist of southern-style cuisine, including fried southern chicken, red rice, southern mac and cheese, collard greens, corn bread, sweet potato pie and peach cobbler.
