Army ROTC Cadets Commissioned as Officers at St. Norbert College

The following St. Norbert College students will be commissioned as second lieutenants in the United States Army during ceremonies to be held at the Willmore Center, 400 Union St., on the Ripon College campus in Ripon, Wis., on Friday, May 24, at 3 p.m.

Joseph Chestnut of Eagle River, Wis., is commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Military Intelligence Corps and will serve in the Infantry. Upon graduation he will attend the Basic Officer Leaders Course in Fort Benning, Ga.

Jesse Erickson of Green Bay, Wis., is commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Field Artillery Corps. Upon graduation he will attend the Basic Officer Leaders Course in Fort Sill, Okla.

Haidyn Mueller of Appleton, Wis., is commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Adjutant General Corps. Upon graduation she will attend the Basic Officer Leaders Course and subsequently be stationed in Green Bay, Wis.

Jakob Pekosh of Glenview, Ill., is commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Engineer Corps. Upon graduation he will attend the Basic Officer Leaders Course and subsequently be stationed in Milwaukee.

Jakob Swenson of Homer Glen, Ill., is commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Infantry. Upon graduation he will attend the Basic Officer Leaders Course and Ranger School at Fort Benning, Ga.

Rebecca Wolff of Oshkosh, Wis., is commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps. Upon graduation she will attend the Basic Officer Leaders Course and subsequently be stationed in Milwaukee.
Avery Zucchi of Belvidere, Ill., is commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps. Upon graduation he will attend the Basic Officer Leaders Course and subsequently be stationed in Italy.

Almost 1,000 have graduated from St. Norbert College’s ROTC program. Fourteen graduates have attained the rank of general during their military careers. Thirty-three have attained the rank of colonel. Few schools offering ROTC can make such a claim.
St. Norbert College’s Green Knight Co. is a member of the Fox Valley Battalion, headquartered at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. It includes companies from Lawrence University, Marian University, Ripon College, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
